Colorado Thanksgiving
Mema, Justin and I spent this Thanksgiving visiting Nicole and family in Littleton, Colorado. What made it uniquely special was that it was our first time meeting our newest nephew Tanner Gary -- and he is an absolute smile-all-the-time doll, what fun!
He loved spending time in his chair-o-toys and would give anyone who was walking down the stairs a huge smile (or a huge doe-eyed stare).
Mema and Nicole cooked an unbelievable Thanksgiving feast -- yum! We spent the rest of the week finishing off the leftovers.
I loved waking up to this scene every morning -- Mema in her robe with her coffee in one hand and her grandson in the other. She soaked up every minute with Hunter and Tanner.
As for Ryan, Hunter, Justin and I, we spent a lot of our time skiing/snowboarding. This is us at Arrapahoe Basin -- the weather was perfect and the views were even better! We did ski Breckinridge as well but the temps were so cold that my pictures didn't quite turn out...
Ryan and Hunter showed us all the great parts of the mountain.
My personal favorite part of the day -- having BBQ'd brats for lunch in the parking lot and Colorado brewed beer (Mike's Hard Lemonade for me, Nicole and I tried every flavor this week - yum!).
Justin and I at Loveland Pass -- this was where we both really started to feel the altitude.
Besides skiing, we also did some hiking in Waterton Canyon (where Justin and Ryan spent a day fly fishing) and we hiked around the Red Rocks, which is where the picture below was taken.
We had an amazing time exploring Colorado, and an even more amazing time spending time with family. Watching movies, shopping, playing Outburst, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary-(hint, don't partner up with Justin on this one - yikes!), walking the neighborhood, and reminiscing on memories past as we make our own new ones made this Holiday the absolute best we could've asked for or imagined. Thank you Nicole, Ryan, Hunter, and Tanner for showing us the best of Colorado all wrapped up in a week! God willing, next year Justin and I will be able to host family here ... !
