Family Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day, Justin and I took the kiddos on an overnight at the new Hampton Inn in town (our mini-affordable-vacation) :o) We swam at the pool, ran down the halls, drank hot cocoa around the clock, ordered in and had a picnic, watched the Olympics, and ate belgium waffles for breakfast. A very fun "trip"!

This is Canon in the elevator on our way down to the pool.
Riley watched a lot of the action from her seat, but she also did a little wading into the pool (although that meant my hands, the usual cameraman, were full).

Canon loved dipping his toes in the hot tub with Daddy too!

Canon found that he could float on his back much easier with this little life vest on.

Canon also found that the life vest hindered him from performing his stunts so he rarely wore it.

Canon must've jumped in to Daddy for an hour and a half before we finally cut him off and shooed him up to bed...

...where he slept like a baby (after a dose of Children's Tylenol, that is, to help his cough.)

Riley also wore herself out dipping all ten toes in the water

The next morning, Canon and I were the first ones awake so we strolled down to get some coffee.
Canon LOVED the 24/7 coffee/cocoa bar where he could have hot cocoa anytime of the day. At 9:00 at night AND at 6am. What a treat!

After an awesome breakfast in the Hotel's dining room, we swam and swam until Canon had only enough body heat left to slug back up to a hot shower (and he mustered up the strength to press all the elevator buttons too, of course).

It was a wonderful weekend trip and made for a very special Valentine's Day for our two favorite little Valentine's!
